Inveraray Castle

We road through the glens of Argyll to visit Inveraray Castle. This is a fairy tale castle with turrets and towers, beautiful gardens and fake battlements. It has been the home of the a dukes of Argyll since the fifteenth century. The dukes of Argyll
are the chiefs of Clan Campbell. This particular castle is 18th century
We returned to the hotel in time to watch Andy Murray win Wimbledon and later walked along the banks of Loch Lomand to do battle with the midges. I have to say that the midges won and we retired to a cool glass of wine!
