Stac Pollaidh

Stac Pollaidh

We travelled fro Durness to Ullapool along a magnificent road. The Lonely Planet describes the route as ” perhaps Scotland’s most spectacular road trip, the 69 miles connecting Durness to Ullapool is a scenic feast, almost too much to take in”
We passed well known mountains including Stac Pollaidh (pictured), Suilven, and the ridge of Assynt. I had a running commentary from Husband who no doubt wished that he was up one of the peaks!
We reached Ullapool and enjoyed a bag of chips on the quay-a rare treat.our campsite was a few meters from the loch edge and we watched the ferries to the Summer Isles coming and going.
We spent the evening at the Ceilidh Place Ullapool listening to an Australian folk group named Munro,O’Callaghan and Titchener. They were very good with excellent harmony and the beer helped.
