1st National Trust property

Levant Mine on the South West Cornish path was well worth the visit. Scarily deep and atmospheric making everyone marvel at the Victorian engineering. It went up to 1.5 miles under the sea and made much profit for its owners. In the mines hey day (1836) 44 women and 186 children were employed to sort the ore after it was mined.

Godolphin is lovely – filmed some of Poldark there. Recently restored and very peaceful.
